Casual Makeup for Mom

Retrieve when I hit the "jackpot," and establish someone to practise my hair and makeup, flawlessly? If non, I shared the earlier and after with you lot a while dorsum hither. I contacted Jennifer at Flawless Makeup again recently, and asked if I could come up visit. Granted, I honey her as a friend… but I had an ulterior motive as well. 😉

I felt similar Cinderella the day she gave me a total makeover, but when I woke up the next morning to showtime another day, it was dorsum to my ragged clothes and messy hair. {Minus scrubbing any floors.}

—-> I had remembered Jennifer saying that she gives make-up lessons, and I knew I needed to make an date asap. I told her that I wanted to share a couple of make-up tricks with my readers {Yeah Yous}, and she was totally pumped for information technology.

Turns out, I had a dear friend, Roseanna, {Picture Perfect past Roseanna— Shameless Plug I know}, coming in to town, ALL THE Manner from Washington, and nosotros fabricated plans to take dinner and a cocktail {or two… ok 3} so I came up with a "Casual Night Out Make-up," program for my stylist. Perfect alibi.

I kept you posted on my Facebook page, with a before photo, above, {well… with shades and a lilliputian Kate Spade}, and told you that I would share the results with yous very soon. Whelp… fast forward about a calendar week and a half, and I'thousand finally sitting down to put it all together. {Yes, I know… slacker. Merely I went to the BYBC2015 conference in Salt Lake City for a few days, and I kinda got a little distracted. 🙂  P.Due south. If you're a blogger and oasis't been to a conference, do information technology. I'one thousand sure I'll give more on that tidbit later on.}

When I got to Jennifer's studio, I snapped a quick picture of my "before." I gotta say… before I started using Kiehl'due south Midnight Recovery Concentrate, and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye Concentrate,  I would accept NEVER went out and virtually on the town, without makeup on. Something virtually this stuff makes my face "glow," and I'1000 loud and proud nigh non sporting the makeup some days.

So the after?

We skipped on the false eyelashes this round, and airbrushing. (Remembering it was merely a coincidental night out, and simple makeup tips that I was needing.)  She too gave me a lesson on how to fix my hair in a "fancy pony," I like to call information technology, but I had her take it downward before I left, and then I could wearable it down for my night out.

I'm a firm believer in online makeup and hair tutorials, just there'due south only something nigh getting something done in person, hands on, so you tin can really let it all soak in. But I exercise want to share a couple of major "practiced to know," things with you that she told me. Why? Considering I dearest yous. Aaaand… if you're in the St. Louis area, I Really recommend you get pay her a visit, so y'all tin see why I adore her. If you lot don't live near hither, or don't program to visit, you may even hit her up for a Skype lesson. Did I only volunteer you for that Jennifer? Ooops. Maybe I shouldn't practice that. It may not even piece of work. But I can't help it. I desire everyone to exist able to utilize you… somehow. 🙂

So a couple of tips I learned that day?

{I learned sooooo much that solar day, but I'grand tellin' ya. You HAVE to do it in person with her. The all-time. Simply merely in case you can't, hither are my faves that I tin can share hither.}

• Practice your eyes first. What? Yes. I idea she was crazy. But after about ii minutes, I totally get it. She told me that if you do your eyes beginning, information technology allows time for the eye makeup to "fall," so you're able to remove it, or encompass it upwardly… earlier you head out the door. Ooooh! Then that's why I was finding myself wiping the gunk off underneath my eyes almost an hour later I left the firm every day.
• Bronzer-I was doing information technology incorrect. Not hard to believe right? I hateful, I did go to take "lessons," for applying makeup. What I WAS doing, was swirlin' my castor around in the bronzer pallet, and covering my whole stinkin' face and neck with it. Jennifer said to only put it on the areas of the face where the light would hitting. So the sides of the brow, cheekbones, and jawbone. Then, if y'all want… take a lilliputian and bear upon the front of the forehead, nose, and chin. Woah… I must have looked like a "spray tan, gone bad," before I started following her tip.
• Ok 1 more than…Concealer. I was using my concealer all wrong. I have this "stick," concealer, that I would "swipe," nether each eye every morning to hide those dreadful numberless. She said I was using the wrong type of concealer for this. Apparently, the stick concealer is best for blemishes, non bags. Ooops.

I did my hair in near 5 minutes… my new favorite style technique for sure. I programme to share my quick "beach wave," wait with you lot VERY soon also, and show you what my fave-o-rite hair products and hair tools are, that I can't live without! 😉
